METY Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to research-based educational tools that help learners better understand what they know, identify where they need support, and take a more active role in their own learning.

Our Mission
Every learner has potential.
METY Foundation exists to help learners recognize and develop that potential by giving them tools to understand their own learning.
Traditional assessments often focus on whether an answer is right or wrong. METY takes a different approach. Our self-assessment tools encourage students to reflect on what they understand, how they approach a problem, the steps they know, and why the concepts work.
By helping learners identify their own strengths and knowledge gaps, we aim to make learning more reflective, personalized, and actionable.
Our educational tools are designed to be accessible, research-based, and available without unnecessary barriers. Students can begin a self-assessment without creating an account, and assessments can be used in multiple languages.
Who We Serve
Students
METY helps K–12 learners reflect on their understanding, identify learning gaps, and decide what to focus on next. Students can use the self-assessment tools without creating an account and can choose the language that best supports their learning.
Parents and Guardians
Families can use METY to better understand what a child feels confident about and where additional learning support may be helpful.
Teachers and Educators
Educators can use self-assessment information to complement traditional assessments and gain additional insight into how students understand a subject.
Schools and Educational Partners
METY Foundation seeks to support educational communities interested in reflective learning, self-assessment, research-based teaching approaches, and broader access to educational resources.
Our Commitment to Accessible Education
METY Foundation believes educational opportunity should not depend on a learner's ability to purchase expensive educational software or tutoring. That is why METY is developing learning resources that can be accessed free of charge and designed for students, parents, and educators. Our work is guided by several principles:
